Is a Rhodesian Ridgeback a good choice for a family with children?
Yes. When properly raised and socialized, Rhodesian Ridgebacks are typically affectionate, patient, and devoted to their families. However, like any large breed, interactions with young children should always be supervised.

With early socialization, most Ridgebacks live harmoniously with other animals. However, they do have a strong hunting instinct, so proper introductions, training, and socialization are essential.

An adult Ridgeback requires daily long walks, active play, and mental stimulation. This is an energetic breed that needs much more than a short daily walk.

Yes, provided the owner can meet the dog’s physical and mental exercise needs. At home, Ridgebacks are generally calm and relaxed when they receive sufficient daily activity.

Ridgebacks are intelligent and quick learners, but they are also independent thinkers. Positive reinforcement, consistency, and patience produce the best results.

Very little. Regular brushing, nail trimming, dental care, ear checks, and routine parasite prevention are all that is typically needed.

Before joining their new families, our puppies are introduced to both a natural (raw/home-prepared) diet and high-quality dry kibble. We personally prefer feeding our dogs a natural diet.

A Ridgeback can be an excellent companion for a responsible owner who is committed to training, socialization, and spending plenty of time with their dog. However, this is not the easiest breed for someone with no prior dog ownership experience.

The price reflects responsible breeding practices, including health testing and genetic screening of the parents, quality puppy rearing, vaccinations, litter registration, proper nutrition, early socialization, and lifelong breeder support for puppy owners.
